This weekend was the Annual 69th British Academy Film and Television Art Awards held at the Royal Opera House in London. Here at The Attic we are bringing you the best from the red carpet to inspire all brides-to-be.
Dakota Johnson stunned in scarlet, in a Dior gown with subtle ruffles, V neckline and spaghetti straps. The "How to be single" star completed the look with Repossi jewellery . For brides looking for a simple and romantic dress this is one to inspire.
Cate Blanchett stole the show in this custom embellished Alexander McQueen gown. The floral embroidered top with cutout details running throughout, was contrasted with a feathered skirt. The "Carol" actress paired this dress with Tiffany and Co. jewellery. This dress is giving a nod to two trends this year with the feathered skirt and the floral details. For brides feeling inspired but wanting to stick more traditional, this dress could work effortless in white as well.
Alicia Vikander wore one of my favourite dresses on the night with this stunning leather paneled Louis Vuitton gown. The details on this dress was amazing, down to the spikes at the bottom and even more incredible was that this dress weighed 35 pounds.
Dree Hemingway wore an Erdem gown paired with David Morris accessories. The model and actress gave a nod to the Victorian trend with the high neckline, long sleeves, delicate lace and floral designs. I'm loving how the designer mixed up the delicate lace with the contrasting floral embellishment.
Gemma Chan shone on the red carpet over the weekend in a sparkly, long sleeve, deep V, Jenny Packham gown. I'm loving the simplicity of this gown, perfect for brides going for the understated yet chic look.
Isla Fisher stunned on the red carpet with a bridal white, silk, floor length, Stella McCartney gown. For me the actress was the picture of old Hollywood glamour in the figure hugging gown, complimented by her 1940's style, fiery red hair.
Kate Winslet showed us how it is done with this sophisticated Antonio Berardi gown. I loved the almost off the shoulder sleeve, in contrast with the uneven neckline on the otherside. The figure hugging gown featured a slit showing off just enough leg. Her Jimmy Choo clutch matched her scarlet red lips and paired with diamond earrings and a bracelet.
Rooney Mara donned a geometric cutout Givenchy gown at the awards this weekend. The "Carol" actress shimmered in a nude gown which sat off the shoulder and fell to the floor. I loved the texture in this dress especially around the shoulders, with the fluttery details. A key trend for brides this year is the nude coloring, why not have fun with your dress and play around with textures and shapes also?
A massive trend for brides this year is floral prints, our very own Saoirse Ronan looked stunning on the red carpet when she wore Burberry's black and floral strapless gown. One of the key ways to wear this trend is with a simple silhouette and print placement.
