One of the biggest night's in the fashion calendar is the Met Gala and last night was no exception. This year's theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. While most brides aren't going to be looking towards technology for inspiration on their big day, we have pulled together some of last night's best dressed to give even the most traditional of bride's some fresh ideas when it comes to finding the dress.
Blake Lively took elements of technology such a laser cutting flowers and mixed it up with more delicate fabrics such as chiffon and silk organza. This pink Burberry gown, with a corset top and A-line skirt could easily take a walk down the aisle with this stunning floral train.
Beyonce wore a nude latex Givenchy gown, with long sleeves and big shoulders. While Latex might not be a popular choice for brides, I was loving the embellishments on this dress.
When I first saw Claire Danes in her Zac Posen, Cinderella inspired gown I loved it! When I saw that it could literally light up, it quickly became one of my favourite of the night. Danes incorporated the theme of the night while also looking like a real life fairytale princess.
Karolina Kurkova wore an off white, organza Marchesa gown. I'm a massive fan of the 3D floral embellishments seen all over bridal catwalks this year and love to see them incoperated into wedding dresses.
Florence Welch wore a custom made Gucci gown. I loved the mix of the metallic material with the more traditional Victorian high neckline and long sleeves. The real beauty of this dress was in the details of the embellished flowers and the beaded neckline.
I loved Rachel McAdams nude with gold beaded Valentino gown. The details on this dress are stunning, with lines from Dante's Divine Comedy scribbled throughout the skirt.
There was something about the simplicity of this white column Balmain dress wore by Doutzen Kroes that I loved, sophisticated yet sexy. Margot Robbie also channeled a white beauty from the Calvin Klein Collection, designed for The Green Carpet Challenge.
One of this years biggest bridal trends is feathers, which Rita Ora took on in a Vera Wang gown. While I'm not mad about the top of this dress, imagine how fun a skirt like this would be walking down the aisle.
Zoe Saldana made one of the most dramatic entrances in a Dolce & Gabbana gown, her peacock feather skirt was one of the most memorable on the night. While feathers are a massive trend this year for bridal, I am not too sure about the full peacock train for walking down the aisle. Brides could however take inspiration from the trend and incorporate peacock feathers into their hair or accessories.
