One of my favourite seasons has always been Autumn, from stamping on crisp leaves as you walk down the street to wrapping up in cosy scarves and coats again. For me Autumn is the perfect time to get married (you also beat the crazy summer rush and have the pick of photographer, venue and band) So here I am bringing you a list of some of the dresses we have available at the Attic perfect for this time of year.
When it comes to choosing the dress it's always good to plan ahead for the whole day. It's such a beautiful time of year to get outdoor photo's (depending on rain of course) but as temperatures drop coverage is a massive Yes for brides planning their big day.
Long sleeves are always a good option for this, I personally love the Annocha from our South African Designer Anna Georgina. The sleeves are a good option for those outdoor pictures, but with the deep V at the back and front brides don't feel like they are too covered up.
The great thing about Anna Georgina dresses is that they are all made to measure, which means that when a bride orders a dress, we take their full measurements and the dress is made to fit them! Your very own personalised dress (which also cuts down on alteration costs afterwards.)
Another great thing about this dress is that it comes with a lot of great options: If brides would rather a closed slit in the skirt or to have the V more closed, for more coverage, this can be achieved in the order process.
However long sleeves aren't everybody's piece of cake, but there are other options, illusion bodices have become a massive trend over the last few years. What I really like about these bodices is that they give you the feel of being covered but at the same time showing skin.

Elbeth Gillis' new collection Milk and Honey is all about separates, so brides can mix and match their skirts and tops to make their own unique dress. A top from this collection that features the illusion bodice is the Tara top seen above.
Staying with the trend of separates let's take a look at Anna Georgina's collection. I love the classic Raphella bodice (seen below) for it's long sleeves and high neckline. The delicate lace on this bodice is perfect for an Autumn weather, and we can have some fun mix and matching to find the perfect skirt.
Stepping away from the long sleeves I think it's always good to consider the cap sleeve and take a look at our new label Madison James!
I am obsessed with this new label, their collection has something to suit each bride from the sexy gown to the princess ball gown and all at a very good price point. This dress is equally romantic and sexy with the balance of the intricate lace and the sexy silhouette. Perfect for this time of year with the cap sleeve yet showing off enough with the scooped back.
For brides also wanting the bit of extra glam (and warmth) on their day, a fur shrug is essential. Not only do they look stunning in pictures but they also keep you warm while you pose among the fallen leaves. If your dress is very traditional this might be the time to have a bit of fun and play around with colour and style of shrug. We also have lots of options available in store to try on until your hearts content.
Best of Luck to all brides planning their Autumn Weddings, to help make the process easier we have created a Pinterest board here full of Autumn inspiration, from the dress and cake to the groom and venue.
