It's awards season again and here at The Attic Bridal wear Boutique we are bringing you all the fabulous gowns from the red carpet to inspire all brides to be. Last week it kicked off with the 73rd Annual Golden Globes awards. From the capes to the plunging necklines this year was full of classic looks and trends that all brides should keep an eye out for when choosing their dress.
A popular colour on the red carpet this year was the classic white, for brides looking for the traditional white with a twist it's time to get inspired.
One of our favourites on the night was Cinderella herself, Lily James. Wearing a layered tulle Marchesa gown styled by her very own Fairy Godmother Rebecca Corbin-Murray. Lily James looked every bit the princess in the whimsical gown with an asymmetric cut out neckline, flowing silhouette and sheer train. Taking the white theme she mixed it up by having subtle tones of pink and purple mixed through.
Alicia Vikander wore a simple yet stunning Louis Vuitton gown. The Swedish actress went for a white striped pinafore inspired, custom made dress with a gently ruffled portrait neckline. The back was equally as striking with the criss cross, cut away back detail. The "Ex-machina" star showed off the delicate pleats in her skirt when she moved.
Eva Longoria wore a bridal white, figure hugging George Hobeika dress with an open back and cut out bow details. The newly engaged star channeled the new trend's hitting the bridal catwalks in 2016 of floral prints and intricate beading.
Our very own Saoirse Ronan wore a grecian style gown by Yves Saint Laurent styled by Hedi Slimane. One of the most popular trends on the 2016 bridal catwalks was a deep V neckline, for brides brave enough to take on the trend. The "Brooklyn" actress does it beautifully here by having a flowing train and keeping the rest of her look understated with jewellery by Chopard and Brian Atwood heels.
Selena Gomez at the Golden Globes After party wearing an understated, off the shoulder, fine pleated dress by J.Mendal. Showing off her tiny figure with the cinched in waist, the singer demonstrated how to pull off the simple yet chic look. Completing the look she paired the dress with green Jacob and Co Jewellery and a Ranwolf clutch.
Laverne Cox wore a sleeveless high neck Elizabeth Kennedy gown with a deep plunge back and flowing train. The "Orange is the New Black" actress paired the bridal white gown with emerald green earrings by Lorraine Schwartz and clutch by Nathalie Trad.
Jane Fonda looked classic and elegant in a Yves Saint Laurent Couture gown. A major trend in 2016 for brides is the Cape and the award winning actress gave a nod to this trend with a three tiered ruffled white Cape over a long sleeved fitted white gown. She finished off the look with Chopard Jewels and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Melissa Benoist took on one of the biggest bridal trends of 2016 when she wore a floral print, tulip Manique Lhuillier gown. She paired the look with light pink jewellery from Irene Neuwrith, white sandals from Stuart Weitzman and a blush clutch from Judith Leiber.
For Brides wanting to take a step away from the traditional white why not take on the 2016 bridal trend of a nude/blush wedding dress. Eva Green wore a romantic gold lace over nude Elie Saab gown. She finished off the look with Repossi jewellery. Elie Saab is one of the top designers when it comes to bridal wear.
