Our last Blog post showed celebrities baring all for the golden globes. However for a lot of brides, especially in our Irish Climate, we need a lot more coverage, and so we bring you bridal coverup's, from capes to long sleeves. Here at the Attic we are personally loving the latest trends of bridal capes. Brides are giving the illusion of having two different looks for their big day by wearing a cape for the ceremony and removing it to show the full dress for the reception. Two looks, one dress.
We are loving Cate Blanchett's Givenchy Couture dress and cape by Riccardo Tiscil. For bride's looking to steer away from the traditional white why not go for a pale pink? The "Carol" actress wore a 1920's style fringed dress with pink heart shaped mesh cutout's. We are also loving the open back detail and how she kept her jewellery simple by Tiffany and Co.
Jennifer Lopez took a step out of her comfort zone in a Giambattista Valli "Mustard-y Marigold" gown as she described it. The figure hugging draped gown and train could be incorporated into any wedding dress and the Cape detail would be perfect for any Irish winter wedding. She finished off her look with Harry Winston Jewellery and Jimmy Choo heels.
Emilia Clarke looked simply gothic with a high neck, black, intricately beaded Valentino gown, featuring a sheer Cape. Black is also a massive trend for 2016 brides, but if your looking to stick to the more traditional white this look could also work.
For any brides not loving the Cape trend, but still looking for coverage on their wedding day why not opt for sleeves?
Melissa McCarthy wore a custom made gown that she designed with her stylist. The metallic blue dress cinched at the waist, has a plunging neckline, split skirt and flowing sleeves. Brides looking for a chic, boho style wedding this dress would be perfect in a bridal white with flowers in your hair.
Saving best for last! Helen Millen looked sophisticated and stylish as ever in a classic black Badgley Mischka gown. The Dame wore a long sleeve, column silhouette gown with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder mesh section. Finishing off the look with Harry Winston jewellery, for any bride wanting to channel old school Hollywood Glamour, this is it.
